The dedicated Unicode Roman Numeral block (U+2160–U+2188): uppercase and lowercase forms of Ⅰ through Ⅿ, the archaic large-number forms ↀ ↁ ↂ, the reversed C (Ↄ), the late Roman numeral six (ↅ), fifty (ↆ), and the Claudian letter reversed C with stroke (Ↄ). Unicode encodes these as compatibility characters for legacy encodings; the preferred approach for most text is to compose Roman numerals from ordinary Latin letters, but this block is useful for round-trip compatibility and searchability.
